Organizations & teams

Everything in Typillar belongs to an organization. When you sign up you get one automatically — an org of one — so a solo builder never has to think about it. Invite people and the same organization becomes a team.

The organization, not your personal login, is the unit that owns work and accounts:

  • Projects belong to the org. Switch orgs and you switch project lists.
  • Cloudflare and GitHub connections are shared. The accounts you connect are the org’s — connected once, used by everyone in it. A teammate doesn’t re-link Cloudflare; they build against the one the org already owns. See Connect your accounts. Stripe is different: it’s a key pasted per project, in that project’s Payments settings, so two projects in the same org can run on two different Stripe accounts. See Permissions & access.
  • Billing is per-org. A plan attaches to the organization, and teammates are free — there’s never a per-seat fee. See Plans & billing.

There are two roles:

  • Owner — sets the org up: connects the accounts, manages billing, invites and removes people. The owner is who onboarding walks through the connect steps.
  • Member — builds. Members don’t see the connect gate (the org’s accounts are already wired up) and don’t manage billing; they open projects and ship.

The org switcher in the header moves you between organizations and creates new ones. To bring someone in, open Settings → Members and send an invite link. It opens an invitation page naming the org and who invited them. If they already have an account they accept and land straight in the org; if they don’t, they create one — and return to the invitation to accept once their email is verified. Either way they start building against the org’s connected accounts, and never see the connect gate.

A team and a solo builder run the exact same project — the org is just the boundary that decides who shares the accounts and the bill.
